Modelling
1. Outlines steps
In order to build my 3D model, the
first things that I do are make a references images for the task. To make this
images references are:

Download the references images, such as image of
robot, or else can draw by ourselves from internet.

After that, import in adobe Photoshop. Cut the
images that we want such as front view, and use ruler and save.
·
After save picture in taga format and export in
3ds max.
·
Make plane in 3ds max,and push control M to
insert images. Choose diffuse and using the images that we save in image files
in 3ds max.
·
After that,use the images as a references to
make the 3D model.
2. Methods
There are four segment
in my 3D model. Head, Body,Hands,Legs.After settle with the references, I start
to build the 3D model. The first things that I create are the legs. To make this
legs, I choose box in standard primitives. I create it in perspective and also
using mirror. To make a mirror use editable poly, go to modifier list and
choose symmetry, change the x or y axis
and select symmetry and use mirror. Make sure the lines are same at grid and flip and click to
editable poly back.After have double box, and start to builds the legs. To make
the legs perfect I select at the box and make insert and after that extrude the
shape. After extrude I suing chamfer to build the side shape to the box. After finish
that, extrude the upper box and build to make the legs more interesting. I also
using this steps in make a body. I take the same shape is box and make chamfer
that take in editable poly. In order to using chamfer must select that place
and use edge. After that, I builds the hands. In order to build hands I choose
box and sphere. The sphere using to make sendi
and shoulder for the robot. After that, combine that shoulder with box that
I shape it using the same ways as a body. But in details, edit the line and
pull up the line to make the box make a shape using select and move. Lastly , build
the head using sphere also. The first things, decrease the segment to make sure
the sphere have it’s own shape. Put the cylinder that take from standard
primitives and make eyes.
3.Map textures
To make
textures, I use in body and legs. The same ways to insert the image. In using
the textures, take in modifier list and using UVW. Select the body and legs and
press M and choose the textures that save in image in 3ds max file. Choose textures
and pick bitmap and there is a textures images and just click ok,and the
textures will be in the head and legs.
