Mid Term Test

MODELLING TEST

QUESTION 1

  
This is the image reference which is I get from google image. To model the robot I need the image from front, back and side view. However, my reference image does not enough. So, I need to drawing side and back view with the same position like front view. After the drawing complete the image should be export to 3d max.


QUESTION 2
         
      3  methods to model the task :
1.      Use Standard Primitives (SP)
·         Choose and use that suitable shape that provide in SP to model the leg, body, neck hand and head.

2.      Use ‘Convert to’ and ‘Editable Poly’
·         After that, the shape must be edit using the ‘Convert to’ and choose the ‘Editable Poly’.
·         ‘Convert to’ and ‘Editable Poly’ are very important in my method. This is because, to get the proper shape like the image.
·         At the same time, to get same exactly image I use ‘Extrude’ to make each of side are same and suitable.

3.      Use the ‘Subdivision Surface’ from ‘Modifier’ and then choose the ‘SmoothMesh’ to make the shape become smooth.


QUESTION 3

1.      Select first the part that need texture and colour. Press the ‘M’ in the keybord to get the ‘Material Editor’. After that, click the symbol ‘+’ on the ‘Sample Slot’, select default.
2.      Click diffuse color and select the color.
3.      Change the Shader Basic Parameters choose the ‘metal’ and tick the ‘2 –sided’
4.      Adjust the glossiness to make that effect color.
5.      Click the ‘Maps’ and tick the ‘Reflection’ after that change to the ‘Raytrace’.
6.      ‘Assign Material’ and ‘Show Shaded Material in ViewPort’.
