MODELLING

1.       In order to build my 3D model, the first things I choose the reference image for the task. There have step for preparing a reference image.
·     To model a character in 3Ds Max, first we need to have a model reference.
·      Basically we need a front view, side view and back view.
·      The reference image we need to save in taga format there was the   stranded format for 3D Max.
·      We need to choose plane object to insert the image reference to that plane
·      To insert the image to the plane, click on the object  which is the plane in this project.
·      Remember to save your image references in the folder images>chummie_modeling > sceneassets > images.
·      To insert the images to the plane, click on the object which is the plane in this project. Then, press “M” on your keyboard, it’s a shortcut key to the material editor.
·      Next, there’s a small square beside “diffuse”, click it.
·      Another panel appear, click “bitmap”
·      Choose your image references you saved in the folder images , just double-click your image reference
·      The image will map on the sphere in the material editor.
·      Then, make sure the plane is selected, click the mapped sphere in the material editor, click “show shaded material in viewport” and click again “assign material to selection”.

2.       Three method of modeling:
Use The Line
·      To modeling the robot, making the body was using the line tool. Select Create and then Shape and choose Line to for making the body. By using the Line, select the shape of the body based on the  reference then select Yes to close the spline .Then select all the line after that right click then choose connect to connect all the point of line. Then, go to the Modifier List and then choose Extrude to extrude the shape of body. After that, adjust amount and the segment at the Parameter to get the perfect body shape. After that , just clone the another side of body .

 Adjust the Shape
·      To edit the shape, right click of the mouse then choose Editable Poly to adjust the shape.
·      In Editable Poly I  used the Vertex to adjust the point of wireframe, and also can plus the point with right click at the mouse add choose cut to add more point at the wireframe and adjust it like what we want.
·      I also using  Edge to adjust the object line using Extrude , Camper and Bridge .

  Symmetry
·         Symmetry was use when I wanted mirror an object.
·         I used it when I wanted symmetry of hands and legs and body.
·         I finish model one side of hand and leg, then enter modifier list and pick Editable Poly.
·         After that I choose vertex at the side that I wanted to mirror
·         Then enter Modifier List and pick symmetry. I can choose axis  y to symmetry.

      3.  Map texture
·      For mapping   I have enter Material Editor  by press ‘M’ in keyboard.
·      Find  picture that I wanted  in internet
·      save the picture  in the folder images>chummie_modeling > sceneassets > images.
·      Next, there’s a small square beside “diffuse”, click it.
·      Another panel appear, click “bitmap”
·     Choose your texture reference image where saved in the folder images , just double-click your texture  image reference
·      The image will map on the sphere in the material editor.
·     Then, make sure the object  is selected, click the mapped sphere in the Material Editor, click “show shaded material in view port” and click again “assign material to selection”. Done.
