With reference to a 3D model that you have created, describe
how you create the model in detail.
1.
Outline the steps for preparing reference images
for the task.
2.
Explain THREE (3) methods of modeling that you
have used in the modeling task.
3.
Explain how you map textures on your model.
Before start, find the drawing picture for the model to make
a 3D model of robot. From the drawing picture, enter to Adobe Photoshop for
edited angle and position for the front view, back view and the side view of
the image as my image reference. Then in the 3D maxs, choose plane and created for
the guide to make the robot. Then by using material editor (M), map the texture
by using the images references. After that, can start modeling my 3D model.
Create a line from splines selection. This will be the model
basic shape for its head. The head component are create by using splines
selection such as Line and using standard object such as Cylinder to create a
eye. Then, combine two Cylinder to create the eye. Next, the eyes will be
duplicate or clone by right click on the object or by simply use CTRL + C and
paste CTRL + V. The body component are create by using splines selection such
as Line. Select the shape of the body based on the reference then select YES to
close the spline. Then, select all the line, after that right click then choose
connect to connect all the point of Line. Then, go to the modifier List and
then segment at the Parameter to get the perfect body shape. The hands
components are create by using splines selection such as Line. Select the shape
of the hands based on the reference then select Yes to close the spline. The select
all the line after that right click then choose connect to connect all the
point of line. Then, go to the modifier List and then choose extrude to extrude
the shape of hands. Second part are created by using cylinder and sphere. Then,
combine all part to create the hands. After that, using mirror to get the right
hand. basic object used is box in insert and extrude to create the bag of the robot.
Then, right click the box, choose object properties, and select the uniform
scale then convert to editable poly.
For mapping, choose
texture in the internet and save in folder. pressing m in keyboard in 3D maxs
for enter material editor before mapping. Then, from the material editor, click
at the diffuse and then the bitmap to choose the textures. Then, click on the
chosen object. From the bitmap , to appear the textures on the object, click
the ‘assign material to selection’ and the ‘ show shaded material in viewport’.
Then mapping the image that I have save on my robot model.
